Self Portrait

How come I never see pictures of the mama's? Probably because we are the ones with the camera in our hands. Or maybe we are the ones who don't want to show our bodies, faces to the wide world of bloggers. OK, so here is a little SP for you, or me. However you want to look at it. I took a picture. Truth be told I think it was about 10 frames. Some aimed wrong, some bad angles, some bad faces, but here is the keeper. Then of course, I have to edit it just a little in photoshop. But, you know I appease my conscience because I only used like 47% powder room, not 90%. That makes me feel like I am being real, or at least 53% real. So here is my just-woke-up-best-picture-of-10-only-slightly-edited-self-portrait. For Real.

p.s. My children were banging on the door asking me why I was in the guest bathroom the entire time. So I had to lock it because they kept getting in my frames. That didn't count at part of the 10. So maybe there were like 17, or something like that.

its you! :)

this is a great idea. Maybe I'll do it too. I hate pictures of myself and I don't know how to use photoshop, so good luck there, right :)

This was funny... the kids banging on the bathroom door gave me a good laugh.

when I was little I used to follow my poor mom all around the house talking her ears off (I blame it on the fact that I was in the middle of 5 kids and it was the way I made sure I was heard) -- she would go into the bathroom and lock the door. I would sit outside the bathroom perplexed. I always thought she needed me to be with her. So I'd knock every few seconds "Mommy? are you okay in there? Do you want me to come in and be with you?" she would say "no, I'm fine - thank you. Please go play and don't call me Mommy while I'm here."

It wasn't until years later, she told me that she was never actually "going" to the bathroom - just reading her Bible, saying a quick prayer or just sitting in the glorious dark, all by herself :-)
